How To Get to the Top of Google Search Results!

Author: Shain Morina

If you have desire to succeed in your online business Search Engine Optimization is the most essential element and there is no way you can avoid this issue.

Search Engine Optimization at the firs view my look like rocket science, but when you start doing it there is nothing simpler than that and I will share with you the basic element that you should change at your website to improve your search engines ranking.

Optimizing your website your can attract more targeted customers who will be ready to buy from you. The higher you’re ranking in search engine results, the greater the traffic to your website and in simple word that’s what search engine optimization is all about.

Almost 85% of people searching for information on the Internet find websites through search engines such as Yahoo, Google.

When starting to optimize your website the most important elements you should look at are: Page Title, Webpage Content, Keyword density, Meta tags and Link popularity.

The first element to optimize in your website is the title of your homepage. In HTML code the title looks like this: < title > Your Page Title < / title >. When search engine robots crawl your page the first element they read is Page Title. In order to increase search engine rankings of your website there are some things you should do:
– included main keywords that we are targeting in page title;
– do not use very long strings of keywords, keeping them to 4 – 5 words or less;
– do not repeat keywords more than once in the title bars;
– identical words should not be next to each other;
– use “|” as a separator between 2 or 3 keywords;
– avoid using fancy titles like “this is the best website about …”
As example your title should look something like this:
< title > losing weight | lose weight fast < / title >. So we you have use two keywords in your title and keywords are separated by “|”.

Next item to examine is called “Meta tags”. Meta tags don’t have effect on page ranking, but is something that you have to do for higher traffic. When optimizing our page we should look at “meta name=description”. As I mentioned this will not help your site in search engine ranking but is the information that people will see when they find your web page and this tell them what is your site about. You know every time we do a search for specific information on internet the results will be organized in this order: Page title, Description and URL. And there is “the description” the main element that makes as to visit that page.
How to optimize your page meta description:
– Most search engines use a maximum of 160 characters for the description.;
– use some keyword in descriptions but do not repeat them
– make it attractive; let say – the easiest and fastest way to lose weight with healthy diet.

Website content – your web content should be unique, you can have a 15 pages site but if all of them are copy you will be ignored. Beside this, an important factor will be how often you will update your site. Search engine robots will ignore your page if you do not make change on regular basis.

Keyword density – in simple words represent the percentage of keywords used on a web page compared to the total number of words on that page. Keyword density is a minor factor in the rankings but it can be relevant factor in determining whether a website is relevant to a specified keyword or not. In other hand if this is used in wrong way will cause a web page to be penalized. Many SEO experts agree the optimum keyword density to be 1 to 3 percent. Using a keyword more than that could be considered search spam.
What to consider when using keywords in webpage:
– use your main keyword at least one time in header tags < h1 > of your page
– use at least one time in < h2 > header tags
– do not overdo it – you will be penalized for that
– when you write sales page try to use keywords in the logical way
– is preferred to – bold, underline, or italicize – some of the keywords;
– use keywords in image tags;

Link popularity – The most important factor to determine ranking in search engine is how popular is our web site. All search engines use link popularity to rank your website. In simple words link popularity is the number of other web pages linking to your website. The more links to your website, the higher your search engine rankings because search engines think that your web site must be important if other web sites link to your site.

The number of back links alone is not enough to improve your ranking, it’s also essential that lining sites are related to your web site. Links from unrelated web sites can hurt your web.

How to get back links to your website? – Make a search for web pages related to your site and send them an email with a Link exchange proposal. In that mail you should include
– Title – the main keyword you are targeting
– URL – your domain.com
– Description – what is your site about?
Usually webmasters will accept the proposal because you will give them a back link so this is a win-win situation.

In conclusion – Search engine ranking is extremely important factor for a successful Internet marketing campaign and making small changes listed above you can boost your rankings in couple of weeks.

Search engines use the Content of your web site and the number and the quality of links to your web site to determine the page rank of your web site. Your web site must have both if you want to get good results.

Remember, the higher your search engine ranking, the more quality customers which mean more sales.

Getting to the First Page Of Google Search Results

Using Keywords The Profitable Way.

There are a lot of, so called experts, out there telling people that it is hard to get on the first page of Google search results.

Let me tell you now that this is not the case but you do need to know what you are doing for you to have a good result.

I have set up a Company called Melbourne Web Marketing to put this myth to bed once and for all and will expose the truth below.

The real power is in the Keyword Research. If you use the wrong keyword (one that no one is searching for) you are wasting your time. I can tell you it is FAR Simpler to Market something that the public is actually searching for.

Toooooo many people, with the intention of making money on the internet, go out and find a product which they go around selling and attempting to drive traffic to. Most of the time the product is not something anybody else is interested in and they fail.
NOTE: Remember what you like does not matter, let the public tell you what they like.

Please remember that the best results are obtained from products that the public wants. Force selling (I call it this when you have a product that YOU THINK others will want) is the hardest type of selling. The reason is that you have to make the potential client think your product is something he can not do without, even though he might not need it. Not a simple task these days.

Would Supply selling (the selling of a product that is a problem fixer with a hungry market) not be simpler?

The bottom line is that ALL the people on the internet are of one frame of mind – “What’s in it for me”. This is so great, as we simply find a problem and the solution and bring the solution to the public’s attention.

Doing your research and finding an issue will give you the base keywords. From there you simply do some in-depth keyword phrase research and filter the non-payers. I love this bit as it is the part that makes you money or makes your fail.

Once you have your most profitable and highly searched for keyword phrase you need to see if any of them can be found as an available domain name. Don’t worry if it is not available as you can make minor changes and still get the full benefit from this action.

Take this as a sample: “Conscious Living” was the main keyword for one of my clients. It was not available so I suggested he go with “about conscious living”. He still got the full benefit from the keyword phrase and a domain name he could use and show relevancy to Google.

To power your way to the first page of Google search results you need to take it a few steps further. You also need to pay attention to the following areas.
Website Title:

This is the first (Blue) line of text that Google displays in the search results. If the persons search term is in your Website Title Google will compensate you. This means that if you have the same words in your title your result will have the keyword highlighted. This makes it stick out more to your potential customer, catching you more traffic, as it catches their eye.
Website Description:

This is the next 160 characters that Google displays in black text within the search results. Treat this text the same as the Website Title. With your keyword in this text it will be highlighted by Google and will make it stick out.

Remember that this is your location to make your potential visitor take note of your site. This can only be done by having compelling text which should include your main keyword phrase not be stuffed full of it resulting in text that does NOT make any sense to the person reading it.

Once your 160 characters are used and you have more text in your Description most search engines will use “…” to indicate more is available. You could use this to your advantage by ensuring you state all of your main benefits within the text and starting a new sentence that will only partially show but sparks the potential customer’s curiosity.
Website Text:

Use the main keyword phrase throughout the text so that Google can see “Relevancy” in your content. Keeping it between 3-6% is good. Going higher could result in your site being flagged as SPAM by Google and you might as well forget that domain name, if that happens, as you will have problems getting rid of this flag.

By the way I found that if you have the keyword in there too often, the text doesn’t read well and in most cases will make your potential customer go elsewhere anyway. This means you would lose two ways, lose your customer and get flagged as a spam site.

Yes the sample used above is an actual task and resulted in position 5 & 6 out of 5,040,000 results.
